My work hypnogenia for processing video information into sound is being installed at Scitech next week 16th March (and staying for a short while). The Analog to Digital show is a new series of events curated by Claire Pannell which interrogates the science of sound with artist talks, electronic performances and installation works.

‘Contortionist’ by Chris De Groot will be premiering tonight at the Fremantle Arts Centre. Super late notice. I programmed Chris’s max/msp patch which is a modular processor for 8 audio inputs being routed through analysis software, real-time effects, samplers, delays and synthesis modules. All controlled by the monome. Tonight it will be performed by the fused ensemble with Chris controlling max.

Over the next two weeks I will be performing a live score to The Trial, a play adapted from a Franz Kafka novel. The play is directed by Michael Jenn and the score is written by my teacher Cat Hope. I am performing on guitar, laptop and typewriter, the score is sounding really great and I am looking forward to the work as a new experience.

The score is a vivid and dreamy mix of terrifying low tones, comical dashes and unusual noise soundscapes.
