6 images – outtakes from artwork concepts for new album ‘raetina’ to be released soon on listen/hear

These images were created using the software “processing” which provides a very flexible and powerful image-based programming framework using fairly short code. These diagrams are based on curves and the repeition of points across a two dimensional plane. The six images that appear here are not being used for the artwork, rather several other images will comprise the final printed edition.

Listen/Hear Collective (who I will be releasing with soon) have been steadily putting out and supporting interesting music of late. Expect a remix album from the group Motion soon, which I have contributed one track to. I still highly recommend the album Presence by Motion, which is a focused yet contemplative re-adjustment of of an instrumental jazz group. Also more recently, Peter Knight’s Fish Boast of Fishing has been made available – this is a fantastic example of extended ensemble playing with great musicians, prepared instruments, subtle electronics and really intriguing improvisation and group performance techniques.
